Schools

Feral’s unique model of practice is highly effective for curriculum-based activity and offers innovative ways to access the syllabus and broader school initiatives.

What we offer

Our playful workshops are adaptable and suitable for learners of all ages.

Through a variety of exercises we creatively use the senses to connect students to their surroundings, themselves and their work.

We use new and different ways to approach existing content (curriculum-based) or to create new theatrical projects (just for fun).

All our workshops are inclusive and invite students to better understand their individual way of sensory processing, using those as strengths while developing awareness of their other modalities.

For Primary schools

One off primary school workshops would include a warm up game that introduces the awareness of what the pupils can see, hear and feel (even smell and taste).

Together, we would use our imaginations to create a different environment and notice our different responses.

From there we would go more in depth with each sense:

  • exploring how to make foley sound effects/use our voices

  • how to use our physicality to communicate

  • how to create pictures as a group.

This can be done to fit a brief or to delve deeper into an existing project, or it can be done to create something brand new.

Workshops last around 90 minutes and cost £150.

For secondary schools

One off secondary school workshops would begin with a lively warm up game that introduces a sensory awareness of what students experience in their environment, in each other and in themselves.

Together, we would then explore how to alter that experience (e.g. by going into character) and to explore how those changes impact us individually and as a group.

We might look at audience experience and how to use the senses to communicate effectively (e.g. voice, physicality, proximisation) individually and collectively.

This can be done to enhance understanding of an existing project/curriculum element or to create a fresh piece of work.

This workshop works particularly well in drama classes and for facilitating creative writing responses.

Workshops lasts up to two hours and cost £250.
