A weekly theatre practice group for ages 16+, led by writer/director Ant Stones

Dates: Every Friday from 9th January - 27th March (except half term) 

Time: 6 - 8pm

Location: The Courtyard Arts Centre, Edgar Street, Hereford

Price: £65 per term plus plays (ordered by the participant)

What to expect

Facilitated by Ant, participants sight read plays and discuss the text. Additionally, some scenes are worked as if the group were a company of actors in a rehearsal process. 

Participants learn vocal techniques for stronger characterisation skills, increase their repertoire and their knowledge of both classical and contemporary plays.

Hamlet - Shakespeare

In Shakespeare’s epic tragedy, the Prince of Denmark is challenged to avenge his murdered father, but his quest leads to the downfall of all.

Athol Fugard Plays 1

Born in Middleburg, South Africa in 1932, Fulgard traveled the world before returning to become a writer, director and actor. His experience of apartheid informed his work throughout his life. He became a professor in California for a time as well as performing in London across the years. Fulgard died in March last year at the age of 92.

The Iceman Cometh - Eugene O'Neill

In New York, 1912, Harry Hope’s bar is frequented by alcoholic down and outs. When a reformed friend returns they are given hope of a better life, but the reformation is not all that it seems.

Oleanna - David Mamet

A 2 handed study of the power dynamics between John, a university professor and student Carol. Written in 1992, Oleanna’s relevancy has been renewed in our post #MeToo society.
