Feral is eight. It’s the age at which children have begun to realise their parents aren’t gods. They start to bite back a little as their footprints show that their heels have dug in a little deeper.
The company is showing us just that as we dig down into a period of creative and organisational development. We continue to be surprised by its insistence on dragging us into fresh and risky territory but we have learned to trust its wild ways over the years and consequently, enticing new shoots are emerging from the fecund ground… Ideas are being born that will continue to invite audiences to live more consciously in their environment but now there’s a sense of quiet revolution: Feral has grown a little in its period of silence, returning now with renewed vigour and an absolutely uncompromising determination to shout about the often overlooked spirit of place.
Following the phenomenal response to 7AIRS we plan to tour it next year so if there’s a market town you know of that is ready for us, LET US KNOW! We are so proud of Feral’s beautiful rural roots and will continue to produce and celebrate work that is Made In Hereford yet has relevance across the nation and beyond. Now though, the company has grabbed us by the scruff of our necks and will shake and shake and shake until we let it out of its cage.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
We are hugely excited to be back at the Ledbury Poetry Festival this year after 2013′s gloriously sunny weekend of Feral fun.
This year’s festival will see Feral’s first ever performance in a theatre. No car parks, no playgrounds or corridors in colleges, just us and a few surprises in Ledbury’s own Market Theatre where, back by popular demand, we will be revisiting our Sandman piece, SHATTERED. This time we invite you to sit back and relax to enjoy the experience, let us take you on a little holiday…
